Filter works well. Has too be tapped to remove fine dust particles after each use.

If you are hesitant about purchasing this item, don't be. This is the best investment for the money and I would gladly pay full price after using it. I have two of these and I purchased the first one at Lowes on clearance for $74.00. I found a second vac at another Lowes clearance priced at $14.00 because it did not have the charger. That was fine with me because I already had one. Would love to have another one, just to keep as a spare. What makes this vac so great, well to start with the dust collector cup is huge and you are not always empting the cup. I have laminate flooring throughout my house with several large area rugs. I can switch from plain vac or use the beater bar without shutting it off. Works well on rugs but works best on bare floors. I paid $100 for an Electrolux stick vac that cannot even come close in power or dirt capacity. I have three other sweepers and nothing comes close to this in performance. Since this Black and Decker has cyclonic power, it sucks everything up in its path. I have large dogs and have to vac everyday. This even picks up the large dog kibble without getting caught in the vacuum.

Mine has been on the bed for a week. I have not noticed any odor or feather leakage. Perhaps the people having odor problems have not gotten them throughly dry. Even the most expensive comforter will smell like wet bird. I owned a laundry and washed many down comforters. They are never the same after they are washed and I would not wash a new one. They take much longer to dry than people think and should be dried slowly on med. heat. This is a true red, very hard to find. The fabric is very soft on the skin, ideal for people like us that don't like a top sheet. I will probably order another to have when this one wears out.

Our nearby stores do not carry all the filters for the Dustbusters so was really glad to find I could buy a quantity on line.

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 76606 Pop-Top Electric Can Opener, Black and Chrome (Kitchen)

I loved my Krups Open Master 404 until it stopped working recently. I found that The Krups, which had NO BLADE that touched the food so as to leave food on the blade as with most canopeners, is no longer made or avaialbe except on ebay. So, I started looking to see what is now available. I tried some other brands. These "other brands" had the typical "blade" that cut into the top of the can and the blade TOUCHED the food inside the can. Thus, food was left ON the blade. To me, after using the Krups for 7 years, this was/is VERY unsanitary---having part of the juice or syrup of the food left to dry out and collect germs on the blade. The only way to avoid having food left on the "cutting blade" of most canopeners is to wash the blade EVERY time you open a can. This isn't difficult, but it takes a minute or two which seems like a lot of effort when you're trying to fix a meal for yourself or your family. Enter the Hamilton Beach 76606. THIS ONE DOES NOT GET ANY FOOD ON ANY BLADE. In fact, I didn't SEE any blade on it that touches the food! So, it's as good, or almost as good, as my old Krups. Praise the Lord! :o) boland7214@aol.

These “other brands” had the typical “blade” that cut into the top of the can and the blade TOUCHED the food inside the can. Thus, food was left ON the blade. To me, after using the Krups for 7 years, this was/is VERY unsanitary—having part of the juice or syrup of the food left to dry out and collect germs on the blade. The only way to avoid having food left on the “cutting blade” of most canopeners is to wash the blade EVERY time you open a can. This isn’t difficult, but it takes a minute or two which seems like a lot of effort when you’re trying to fix a meal for yourself or your family. Enter the Hamilton Beach 76606. THIS ONE DOES NOT GET ANY FOOD ON ANY BLADE. In fact, I didn’t SEE any blade on it that touches the food! So, it’s as good, or almost as good, as my old Krups. Praise the Lord! :o) boland7214@aol.

This review is from: Black& Decker DCM2500W SmartBrew 12-Cup Coffeemaker, White (Kitchen)

I've seen some negative reviews on here of this coffeemaker, and I felt that I should write a review of a positive experience to give some perspective.
I've had this coffeemaker for about a year and a half, and I don't have any complaints. No parts have broken, the clock is accurate, the timer still functions, I still wake up every morning to a nice fresh pot of coffee. The lip of the pot is well formed, so that you never spill when you're pouring a cup. These are all simple things, but coffee is a simple thing. If you don't notice your coffeemaker, that means that it was designed well. This is an inexpensive, reliable coffee machine.

In fact, I've even abused the little guy. I like to make Thai iced tea, but I'm also too lazy to use a teapot, so I'll run my tea through it three or four times until it's dark enough, and it still holds up like a champ.

Here are some of the convenient features:

- Water window on the side, so you can see how much water you're putting in without having to measure using the pot.
- Timer feature so you can wake up to pre-brewed coffee without waiting.
- Sturdy, elegant pot design. The pot can be put in the dishwasher with no problems, and the large handle means you'll never drop it.
- Auto-off feature that turns the heating element off after two hours. (Another reviewer mentioned that there was no auto-off, which is incorrect)
- Large capacity scales well. By this, I mean that it makes two cups of coffee just as easily as it makes 12 cups, so it's good for a morning alone, or if you want a lot of coffee for several people.

The reason I didn't give it a five is that there are a few minor drawbacks:

- It's a little difficult to clean, because of the design of the pot and the maker itself. Not terribly difficult, but a tad annoying.
- The "sneak a cup" feature isn't perfect, it can leak a couple drops when you use it. However, I use the timer, so never have to sneak a cup, you can just have a pot ready whenever you want.

But honestly, these drawbacks are inconsequential. You're not going to find a better coffeemaker for under $30 with this many features, and this kind of reliability. I highly recommend it.

We all know the problem coffee makers. They have mysterious water leaks, they don't drip into the carafe correctly, the filter basket overflows if it isn't perfectly in place.
Black and Decker (B&D) has designed a coffee maker that is inexpensive and simply eliminates those problems...

How I know:
I got this coffee maker for the office. We brew at least three 12-cup pots a day. We've done about 100 pots WITHOUT A SPILL OR LEAK. I highly recommend this machine.

What I know:
The "Perfect Pour Carafe" is great. B&D just gave it a wider spout! What a concept! You wouldn't think a handle makes a big difference, but when you're carrying 12-cups-worth of water or coffee, you will suddenly appreciate this excellent handle. This carafe even looks nice.

The filter basket does not swing out, nor must you hold it in one hand while you add the coffee. Swing-out baskets are the ones that overflow when you don't close them perfectly, and slide-out removable baskets leave only one hand for the scooping chores. This basket can be removed to dump the old grounds, but is then replaced in the machine so both hands are free.

That is because the lid opens up to expose the filter basket and the unobstructed, large water resevoir. No careful aiming or water splashing off of useless plastic grates when filling. There is a strange looking, hinged "shower head" that delivers the hot water to the filter basket. It is simple in design and works well.

The lid closes securely and pins down the removable filter basket to further eliminate human error in basket positioning.

Even the "sneak a cup" mechanism is simple and effective. It is simply a rubber stopper on a simple lever. The carafe can be placed in a "wrong" and possibly overflow-producing position, but if you place it with the handle straight out, you can't go wrong.

Water level is indicated externally on both sides of the machine.

Auto shut-off after two hours is essential in our office. It works and the coffee is kept quite hot during that time.

Easy to clean (buttons are water/coffee proof).

Need I say more?

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 48274 Brew Station 6-Cup Coffeemaker, Black (Kitchen)

After reading the negative reviews, I was a little leery of buying this coffee maker, but my daughter bought it for me, and I'm thrilled. I have found that if I'm careful pouring the water in and if I pack the 4-cup filter in the basket before adding the coffee, I have no problem with leaks. The little arm that sprinkles the water over the grounds moves automatically in place when you close the cover, but I just position it myself to be sure. The programming function has worked great so far. The best part is that I no longer have to put the coffee in the microwave after pouring it-it's nice and hot. I think the dispenser is cool, and I love the fact that there's no glass coffee pot to play around with. I feel it's very easy to clean-I just let the pot cool and then soak it for a few minutes and wipe it out. There's hardly any water left in the reservoir after brewing which is great
A word of caution-the components are made of cheap plastic so you do need to be a little careful putting them in place. Don't let the cover slam because it won't close tightly and I think I may have displaced mine a little but it still works fine. It's a little noisy-makes a soft perking type noise as long as there's coffee left, so I know when it's almost empty because the noise stops. There were complaints about it not really making 6 cups, but as far as I know, every coffee maker on the market uses the 6 ounce measure as 1 cup, even though there are probably not many people who use that in real life. What does a 6 ounce cup even look like???
I think there may have been some improvements since the earlier reviews-there is a picture guide inside the lid, and a very basic manual. One thing it does say is not to use more that 5 Tablespoons of coffee, probably because if you use much more, it will leak or get grounds in the coffee. I have had no trouble so far with using heaping spoonfuls
