I bought a used Murray lawn mower and the belt came off,I don’t have the manual. How to I replace the belt ?

    You don’t say if it is the mower deck belt or the drive belt. My sears tractors have diagrams on the deck and under the foot rests for the belts. You could check to see if there is a decal on your tractor. Also, you had better check the condition of the belt. They usually don’t just come off. Could be that the belt is worn and needs replacing. I would also check the pulleys for damage.

    Look the manual up online. Go to the site that makes that particular brand. And this may sound stupid, but for God’s sake, do it while the mower is off!! My neighbor wasn’t as bright!! He has a new name, Nubby, get the point? And this is a smart man, but sometimes we do things without thinking first.

    without seeing it all i can tell you is.the flat part of the belt goes on the flat pulleys and the v-part goes in the v-shaped pulleys.check all the pulleys and the belt good to find out why it came off.hope this helps.
