My Riding Lawn Mower Cuts The Grass Unevenly. How Do I Adjust It?

News/Articles/Questions

I have a Craftsman TS1000 riding lawn mower and my son ran over a large rock that damaged one of the two blades. After replacing the damaged blade, the lawn mower cuts unevenly. I put the lawn mower on a level surface and can see that the mower deck is uneven, but I don’t know how to adjust it. Can you help me?

You might have broken a weld that holds the deck to the mower. Your mower booklet should have minor deck adjustments shown, but major ones like the broken weld necessitate removing the deck for repair.

one is to call a company that repairs lawn mower. one thing you can do is take both blades off and put them back on strait as they might have gotten un even wen you had it repaired. after that you can ajust the deck.

There are adjusters on each side of the deck. Put the mower on a level surface and you can screw/unscrew them to level the deck. Also, make sure the air pressure in the tires are correct. That’s one of those overlooked problems that can cause an uneven cut.

there should be a threaded adjustment rod on each side.check for bent adjustment linkage.the deck may have gotten bent when he hit the rock.hope this helps.
