News/Articles/Questions

I am a 20-something girl moving into a house for the first time after college. I need to buy a lawn mower and would like to get some recommendations. It needs to be affordable (<$400). I don’t know much about lawn mowers, so I need all the help I can get. Thanks!

Depends how large an area you have to mow. If it’s not a large lot, try a reel push mower (no engine — you push and the blades go round and cut the grass — doesn’t work too well if the grass gets too long). It’s quiet, non-polluting and you get more exercise.
Otherwise, I recommend an electric mower. Ones that need a cord are less expensive, but you have to remember to keep the cord from being mowed (cut). They don’t pollute as much as gas powered mowers and are quieter and need less maintenance.

My girlfriend owns a craftsman lawn mower, their lightweight, relatively cheap and come with a good guarantee. You’ll get them a good bit cheaper online and they’ll be delivered to your house so there’s no hassle.
Expect to pay around $300 for them

http://www.consumersearch.com/lawn-mower… has a list of them to choose from. But for under 400 dollars it will have to be a push mower at best.
