I would like a lawn mower where I will not see any critters after I’ve mowed the lawn.

I suggest the ordinary push mower or a rotary blade mower.

Honda, they are top quality, and do a fantastic job with mulching. They do not leave huge clumps of thatch.
As for the critters, the mower has nothing to do with that, it means your lawn is a great place for insects, and birds go for it. You might go to your local lawn & garden center and ask what is the best thing for insects, grubworms, and the like.

Get a rotary mower wnd be sure you have a mulching blade. The blade needs to be sharp. It will mince the grass up so you will not notice it. It will just fioter down under the live blades.
It helps to go over the lawn twice in different directions. And make sure you overlap the passes by 1/2 to 1/3 of the cutting area.

I have found a rotary mower called a snapper to be very good value and does a very good job of cutting the grass.

robomow… it’s a robot. Turn it on and it will mow your garden by itself, and do a great job too.
