My lawn mower is about two years old. But when I mow it works fine for a while then shuts off. I’ve cleaned the filter, it has plenty of gas, and the oil is good. A friend said to spray a little WD-40 on it and it worked fine for a minute and then the same thing again. Can’t figure out exactly the problem is. Any answers or suggestions?

I agree- its in the carb - remove and clean the carb - if theres a fuel filter somewhere inline, change that as well. If youve never changed the spark plug , change that as well. Check the airfilter for any serious dirt.

Have you checked the spark plug? Or maybe the carburetor needs to be cleaned or adjusted.

Try cleaning the air vent holes in the gas cap.

My guess is you have gotten a tiny piece of dirt into the carb jet and until you take the carb apart and clean it out and then blow it out with air it wont run right,it sounds like what happened to mine last year.Good luck.
